Today, we're sitting down with Amber, owner of Cakeable, to give you a behind-the-scenes look at her incredible cakes and treats!

Tell us about Cakeable and what inspired you to start it.

Cakeable specializes in wedding cakes and desserts- however, I got my start creating elaborate birthday cakes for my kids and their friends back in 2020. I have always been a “food nerd” and have worked in the wedding industry as both a caterer and hair/makeup artist in the past. My creative mindset has brought me down many paths in life, but wedding cakes and dessert styling is probably my favorite! I love getting to play a role in the some of the happiest moments of people’s lives.

What makes Cakeable unique?

Cakeable can offer a very large variety of options for your wedding desserts. Not only do I offer traditional cakes, I also can offer unique styles, themed grooms' cakes, build-your-own dessert tables & even Mobil dessert cart rentals! Everything is custom to fit your vibe, and I take the time to get to know you and what best reflects your style. Not only do I offer a curated dessert experience, I am able to accommodate a wide variety of dietary restrictions such as gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan and even sugar-free!

What other treats do you make besides cake?

The possibilities are nearly endless! Besides traditional cake, cupcakes and cookies- I offer a “build-your-own” dessert table option that lists over 40 varieties of treats. From “Bars and Brownies” (such as Snickerdoodle Blondies or White Chocolate Raspberry Bars) to “Elevated Nostalgics” (like Gourmet Marshmallows and Scratch-made Oreos) there’s so many options! I will soon be adding options like cheesecakes (mini or full size) and tiramisu sheet pans and towers!

What types of couples fall in love with your style?

I tend to attract the foodie crowd. People who really want a unique and elevated dessert experience. With over 60 flavor options for cake alone, I work with couples who take their dessert seriously (but not too seriously- dessert should be FUN!)

What is one wedding trend you’re loving right now?

Tiramisu! Also loving the table runner cakes and customizable dessert carts.

What is one timeless wedding detail you’ll always love?

Cake cutting will always have a special place in my heart. One of the first traditions couples do as a team. When food is a love language for so many (myself included) it’s the perfect fit! I do love new spins on this tradition like blowing out candles on a long table runner cake, sprinkling cocoa powder on your tiramisu together, or even the couple themselves serving cake table to table to their guests!

Which of your cake flavors are most popular for weddings right now?

It tends to depend on the season, but timeless classics such as Vanilla Bean and Lemon cake are always popular for weddings. Mocha Espresso is very popular with the chocolate lovers.

What’s your favorite wedding cake design style?

I love a small 2 tier cutting cake paired with a dessert spread. Lambeth vintage piping is still one of my favorite go-to designs.

What should couples consider when planning desserts for guests?

If you’re planning a dessert table, you should keep it between 3-5 varieties and plan on 2-3 desserts per guest. For traditional cake slices (sit down service) keeping it right around your expected guest count is fine. You can always add on cake slice (or cupcake) to-go containers to offer guests a take home option too!

What can brides expect from you at the bridal tea?

I will have a variety of cake and dessert samples to try and some small displays to get the ideas flowing. I plan to demonstrate some cake decorating techniques and get the guests some hands-on experience.
